Introduction to UX UI Design Qualification
Ever aspired to become a UX/UI designer but wondered what you should study for it?
There are a few degree programs in this field around the world. However, the career scope is excellent. Therefore, you can notice a lot of online programs and certification courses helping you to take up the UX roles.
What qualifications do you need to study UX/UI?
As I mentioned above, there are no exclusive UX/UI degree programs in India. In design programs at a few colleges and universities in the country, UX/UI design is just one of the subjects covered. Out of six subjects in a semester, UX/UI will be one subject. It is a single subject, not an entire course.
There is no degree program, but you have plenty of certification courses and workshops that can train you as a UX/UI designer. One more good news about learning UI/UI designing is that you don’t need a graduate degree or school completion certificate. It is an open course for everybody and anybody. Also, you will get a job even if you have backlogs with your degree, if you have UX/UI certifications in your resume. But MNC has a strong company policy that any employee must have a minimum of 16 years of educational background to qualify as their employee. There are jobs in the rest of the places.
Can you study UX/UI designing if you have a non-design education background?
You can study UX/UI design irrespective of any degree you hold. It is a soft skill program. UX design is a field that collectively has the best practices from other fields and advice on enhancements for further growth.
UI design is a technical skill. In that course, you will learn how to use a few design software and tools. Along with UX design, you can learn to use these UI design software and build a holistic career in the UX/UI designing industry.
What is the eligibility to study UX/UI designing?
The below list of people can study UX/UI designing.
. Arts & Science graduates
. Engineering graduates
. Architecture graduates
. Designer from any industry (fashion, web, presentation, graphic)
. Developer & programmers
. Graduate in Psychology
. MBA & related degree
. Content writers
. Business magnates or entrepreneurs
Anybody and everybody who falls into the above category is a good fit for UX/UI designing. So far I have seen medical and law graduates are a slight misfit for UX/UI but we cannot make a judgment if their interest is high.
Conclusion
The best thing about the creative field is that it lets you explore without an identity or pre-defined rules. Therefore, you don’t need to press yourself hard if you don’t have a degree, but have a thirst for UX/UI designing. It is a good opportunity for anybody to kick start their careers.
